Hiking Question

Jenni, you mentioned Grandier Peak. Where is that at and how hard of a hike is it? Our family have not been hiking yet and need a nice hike - not like Becca was showing us, though! My guys have made that hike a time or two, but I'm just fine with seeing pictures, thank you very much!

Hi Kristine!
Gradeur peak is up Mill Creek canyon. The trail head is at the top of the Church Fork picnic grounds.

We hiked it last year on July 4th to watch the fireworks.. pretty amazing! It takes a good 2.5-3 hours to hike up. It gets kind of steep at times-- moreso at the top.

If you decide to go hiking, let us know! We may join you!

I'm glad Becca responded, cuz I'm always the passenger. :S Sad I don't know where I'm actually hiking huh?

You can literally drive to the top of butterfield canyon, but if you want to hike there is a point where you can park the car(just before heading back down the toelle side), where there are a few hiking trails that we have not explored yet.

And we might join you on a hike too! Josh's brother just went up to Donut Falls, that's another fun and familiar hike for us. It's got me wanting to hike!!

Thanks for the info! I guess hiking will wait until August - lots of camps and activities until then, but it would be fun to get together for a hike. We've done Donut Falls a few times - that's a nice one. Now that you mention Mill Creek, that does sound familiar.

I've thought of doing Ensign Peak early morning and then doing some church history things the kids have never done (Tours, etc.) and then having lunch at the Lion House. That's probably an early August activity also. Any joiners?
